Morning of day 3 and we are still alive!

So we ended up having a little excitement yesterday, but it did not involve danger. As we were about 20 miles outside of Las Vegas, Emma, yelled, "Look at that plane!". After the initial scare wore off, we looked up in the air and what to our wandering eyes did appear, but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeers. Oh, no wait, that's not right. It was a Stealth Bomber! What a cool sight for us to see, after 640 miles of absolutely NOTHING!!

We arrived at the hotel and went to dinner at Sammy's LA Pastrami and Burger! Oh my, if you are EVER in Las Vegas, you MUST go eat there! Later this year, Guy Fieri, from "Diners, Dives, and Drive-Ins", on the Food Network, will be doing a segment there. The two most popular sandwiches right now are the Chipotle Burger, which is 1/2 lb of beef, with cheese, 4 strips of bacon, one over easy fried egg, chipotle ketchup, and shoe string french fries (yes, the fries are on the burger!), and the Big _ _ _ Bacon Burger, which consists of 1/2 pound of beef, 12 slices of bacon, and the normal condiments! Everything they make there, has at least 1/2 pound of meat on it. They also have French Fry meals, one being the 502, which consists of 1 lb of fries, 1/2 steak, 1/2 lb pastrami, chili, jack/cheddar cheese. It is the BEST burger we have ever tasted! Jeff ate the Chili Burger, the kids ate Bacon Burgers, and I had the LA Pastrami Sandwich. After dinner, we had a quick dip in the pool, and then in bed by 9:30 pm and kids were asleep by 9:32 pm!

Upon waking this morning and taking a shower, I decided to just use the hotel shampoo, but realized there were NO directions on how to use it and about had a melt down in the shower, until I remembered the episode of "Friends", where Phoebe sang her shampoo song, that went like this... "lather, rinse, repeat... lather, rinse, repeat... lather, rinse, repeat... as needed." So, all of you can let out your breath, I did survive.

We have a shorter drive today,,, only 5 hours to San Diego. Stop 3, our final destination for one whole week!!
